3 days to go

Our hotels are all booked and the itinerary is almost finished. The reality is beginning to set in - but only every now and then, most of the time I'm not worried. First two nights are in a B&B in Keswick, then 2 in a Penrith B&B, 2 in Castleside (Consett) in the cottage annexe of a B7B and the final two in the relative luxury of the Malmaison on the Newcastle Quayside.

A little bit of a hiccough last week when both kneecaps decided to be a little off centre making even walking either difficult or at times, impossible! Luckily with a little bit of manipulation and some easy exercises/stretching got them back to where they should be. Some extra gym work with Graham at MyLife PT and a massage there with Chris and I think they'll be OK.

Now is the time that you wonder if you've done enough training - I usually haven't but I finish most races/challenges although not always to my own satisfaction. This time I've done plenty of long runs day after day although they may not have been as long as I hoped. I have a week and the final days are planned to be very short (it's all relative) so there is some wiggle room, just not much!

I'm not the only one with niggles at this point though - one of my support runners (who seem to be fitter than me - oh dear)  has an inflammed lumbar spine and is taking meds. We may be slower than planned - but we will be there.
