Today I put some more of the kit that I think I'm going to use on the run into the backpack and took it for a little run - just under 2 miles to the gym. It still feels light and holds in place well. I know that there will come a time when I'll have so much kit in it that I'll have to start rationalising to get it to work but it's not now!
I also got hold of some protein bars to try on the run. I will be carrying water and carb drinks but to reduce weight and that annoying 'sloshing' noise I'm thinking bars. I've also been shown some gels today thay come in a toothpaste type tube with a lid so that will be the next test along with a new carb drink with less 'processed rubbish' in it than my current choice.

Thanks for the kind comments and good luck with the attempt, I think your mental and walking to the fridge for cider and snacks is more than enoguh exercise for anyone, but good luck anyway!
