I've been 'working' with my new coach for over a year now. He's different, he's an NLP practioner and we do NLP sessions for my training as well as talking training.
He's always positive - he never criticises my goals, no matter how stupid they seem....running from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, completing the Goofy challenge. His role is to help me see how I can achieve these. Very different from the last guy - he was negative about the Goofy and made it clear.
I am now enjoying my running more and although I may not be any faster I feel better about it all and more in control as I set my training timetable (well I do know how!) and just discuss it and breakthrough strategies with Coachy Matt. He's part of our very inclusive Tri club. I think he's really helping me, plus he's cheaper!!!!
